| Huh, it's all working now, after a reboot. The caps issue suddenly began behaving as it should. Maybe one of the setting changes you asked me to make required the keyboard software be restarted?
Just to give you a clue for debugging... Even though I had the setting in place for auto complete and for showing the shifted keys (you know, showing " instead of ') when you hit shift, neither of these features were working until now, either. Not sure how it could be related, but I don't know of any changes I made between restarts.
